Ingredients

  • 12-4-8 NPK, a 3-1-2 ratio: 12% nitrogen, 4% available phosphate, 8% soluble potash.
  • Amino and organic nitrogen: nine of the twelve points of nitrogen are water-soluble organic nitrogen from soy protein hydrolysate.

How to use

Mix into water and apply. One teaspoon per gallon supplies about 160 ppm nitrogen. Pick the mode that fits the plant:

  • Constant feed: half a teaspoon (2.5 mL) per gallon, with every watering, the everyday program for houseplants and containers.
  • Interval feed: 1 teaspoon (5 mL) per gallon, every 7 to 14 days. Use this or constant feed, not both.
  • Heavy feeders: 1.5 to 2 teaspoons per gallon, every 7 to 14 days, for citrus, figs, bananas, tomatoes, peppers, and other fruiting plants.
  • New or repotted plants: a quarter teaspoon per gallon with every watering for the first two weeks, then move to constant feed.
  • Recovery feeding: for pale or underfed plants, 1 teaspoon per gallon every watering for 2 to 3 waterings, then resume your normal schedule.
  • Foliar spray: a quarter teaspoon per gallon, spray until leaves are wet in early morning or evening, avoiding hot or direct sun.
  • Fertigation or drip: deliver 100 to 200 ppm nitrogen, filter the solution, and flush lines with plain water after feeding.

Mix only what you will use, apply the mixed solution within 24 hours, and do not store it diluted. Reduce feeding during slow growth or dormancy.

Storage: keep the powder in its sealed pouch in a cool, dry place, press out the air and reseal after each use, and keep the scoop dry, since it is a water-soluble powder that draws moisture.
